The Squid Squad is for young scuba divers who are looking for action-packed fun in a pool by completing exciting underwater games and puzzles.

Have you ever wondered what it's like to dive with flashlights, take digital pictures underwater or float effortlessly like an astronaut? Beyond learning basic scuba skills, we start to think about exploring underwater and how we will navigate, control our buoyancy, have environmental awareness and more. Squid Squad includes doing some cool stuff in the pool, meeting friends and sharing in the adventure of the underwater world. To join the Squid Squad, a child must be 8 years of age or older.

No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but kids should be comfortable in the water.  Kids will be required to do a Explorer course with us prior to starting the Squid Squad Programme.  This will teach them the basics and ensure they are comfortable under water.  Parental approval is required.

Squid Squad is a great programme for the 10 to 12 year olds to complete before joining on an Open Water course as it gives them some experience and introduces them to some of the skills they will be doing on the Open Water course in a more fun based way.

Academic

At the start of each session we will spend some time to discuss the days activity.

Equipment

You learn to use basic scuba equipment that are suitable for young divers, including a mask, snorkel, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device, dive gauges and a tank.

BEFORE YOU START THE COURSE

  • You must fill out a medical questionnaire to check whether you are fit to dive 
  • You need to comfortable in the water
  • A minimum age of 8 years applies.  
  • Complete a Dive Now run Explorer course
  • Every student under 18 needs to have a parent or a guardian sign a consent form
